Application to be an Independent ShadeTree® Retractable Deck & Patio Installer

I understand that ShadeTree® markets its line of ShadeTree® Retractable Deck & Patio Canopies directly to consumers nationwide. ShadeTree offers a "No-Hassle Installation Assistance Service" for consumers who want ShadeTree to assist them in arranging for the installation of their new ShadeTree® Retractable Deck & Patio Canopies. I would like to be considered an installer in my local area.

Terms of the ShadeTree® No-Hassle Installation Referral Service provide that ShadeTree publishes a standard fee for installation from the Consumer at the time of sale. The Schedule of Installation Rates covers only the installation of the ShadeTree® Retractable Deck & Patio Canopy System itself and does not include travel expenses or the cost of lumber and supplies purchased locally or any other work requested by the Consumer in addition to installation of the ShadeTree® Retractable Deck & Patio Canopy System. Any such additional work must be covered under separate contract between Consumer and Installer and collected directly by Installer.

There may be installations where the homeowner would like you to do carpentry work in addition to installing the ShadeTree system (our Forester model requires wood supports and this is when the homeowner is most likely to ask for additional work). If you feel you are capable of doing this work, you will make an agreement directly with the homeowner for this additional work, and they will pay you separately. For your protection, and the homeowner's, ShadeTree requires that you provide a detailed, written estimate prior to the start of your work. Furthermore, we require that you provide a written estimate of any work beyond the assembly of the ShadeTree System, i.e. installation of a header board on the side of the house, digging footers, removal/replacement of gutters, etc, so the homeowner knows exactly what they will owe you prior to the work.

ShadeTree will generate an Installation Agreement for each installation assignment. The installation agreement will be between you and the homeowner. Payment will be made by the homeowner directly to the installer upon satisfactory completion of the installation. ShadeTree assumes no role in the payment or collection of fees for installation, nor does ShadeTree warrant the installer's work. If a homeowner is unsatisfied with the installation, the installer must remedy the situation at his/her own cost.

The Installer is responsible for compliance with all local codes and regulations, including appropriate licensing and permitting rules and regulations. The Installer is also responsible for the collection and payment of all applicable sales, use and other taxes, if any, related to the installation fee. Upon request, the Installer shall provide appropriate documentation to ShadeTree establishing Installer¹s compliance.
